About Me


Satu-Minna Suorajärvi (b. 1967) is a Helsinki-based sculptor who uniquely bridges traditional sculpting techniques with digital technology. Since graduating with an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2008, her practice has focused on expanding the language of sculpture through 3D computer software, algorithmic modeling, and parametric design.

Easy way to make bigger sculptures is to glue them together with gun glue. Works quite easy with 
PLA. I also tried to welding plastic PLA with my Dremel, just put 2-3 cm long filament to Dremels head, rolling around and touching a object heats the filament and it works like metal welding, but remember to use safety goggles!
